1. Remote Sensing Applications Service :
We provide remote sensing service through surveying, mapping and monitoring
natural resources using satellite images. We use paper copy as well as digital
satellite data as basic input. We undertake surveying, mapping and monitoring of
natural resources in various scales such as 1:50,000/1:25,000/1:10,000/1:5,000.

2. Geospatial Data Base Creation :
Centre undertakes projects for creating spatial database layers for different
natural resources. Different types of non-spatial data are linked with the
spatial layers to generate value added maps as per the requirements of the
users.
3. Conducting Training and Orientation Workshops on Remote
Sensing Applications and GIS for State User Departments :
ORSAC organises training programmes on remote sensing and GIS on request. The
centre also organises orientation workshops at District headquarters.
4. Providing Network Support for Conducting Interactive Training
Programme through GRAMSAT Network :
ORSAC facilitate in organising Interactive Training Programme
(ITP) for the various Govt. organisation/departments as well as for Non-Govt.
organisations through Gramsat Network. Government departments are organising
programmes for the common men as well as for their departmental officials at
district/block level explaining the objectives and modalities of operating the
schemes/ programmes and providing awareness about the schemes / facilities
provided by the Government.
5. Evening Transmission of Programmes on Development Activities
of the Govt. of Orissa :
Evening Transmission has started from July 27th 2004 through
Gramsat. Chief Minister of Orissa inaugurated the transmission. Govt.
programmes, policies and facilites for the common men are transmitted through
drama, fictions, duets, discussions and songs. This telecast is being done from
6 PM to 7.15 PM every day except for Sundays.
