The Centre has in its possession various sophisticated systems and equipments relating to Image Analysis, Photogrammetry, Cartography, Environmental Monitoring, Geophysical investigations, Soil survey and Laboratory Analysis and a wide spectrum of Satellite and Aerial Data.

IMAGE /PHOTO/ DATA LIBRARY: Satellite data of IRS, LANDSAT, SPOT, SALYUT-7, NOAA and Airborne SAR data in Compact Disk (CD ROM), Data Cartridge (DAT), Floppy, CCT, hard print and dia-positive formats, Aerial photographs, Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data and Survey of India topo sheets of the State on various scales. DIGITAL IMAGE PROCESSING SYSTEMS:ERDAS Imagine 9.2 . GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEM (GIS): The facilities used for undertaking spatial data storage, analysis, modeling and integration include PC-ARC/INFO (ARC/EDIT, ARC/PLOT, ARC/TIN and ARC/VIEW), IBM with ARC/INFO, ARC/EDIT, ARC/GRID, ARC/TIN, Pentium 4 with ArcGIS of latest version 9.2 . OTHER SYSTEM AND PERIPHERALS: Intel Servers, Core2Duo Desktops, Pentium 4, Laptop and A4/A1/A0 size Printers, Plotters & Scanners. SOFTWARES: Pagemaker, MS Office, ORACLE, WP, SPSS, SW, CADCORE, CIS, EX, Citrix Metaframe, Compilers like BASIC, FORTRAN, COBOL, C, C++. GLOBAL POSITION SYSTEM: GPS 12 by GARMIN- 8 nos. Digital GPS MOBILE GPS/GIS: PAMTOP Computer with GPS and GIS (Arc PAD)

BROADCASTING NETWORK: GRAMSAT Pilot Project- Orissa facilitates a Direct Reception System Network at 1431 remote places including 30 Districts, 314 Block Hqrs. And 1087 Grampanchayat Hqrs. of KBK districts facilitating Interactive Training Programme of various Departments of Govt. of Orissa and Evening Transmission on various developmental programme in the form of dance, drama & fiction. GRAMSAT-EduSat Composite Hub, EduSat Network at 37 High Schools of Orissa

 

SURVEY EQUIPMENTS: Several equipments for Soil Survey, Geophysical Investigation and Engineering Survey equipments i.e Theodolite, Dumpylevel, Compass, Chain, Tape etc are available.

AUDIO-VISUAL EQUIPMENTS: Slide and Overhead Projector, Microphone, T.V, VCP and multimedia facility, LCD Projector.

VSAT NETWORK: GRAMSAT Pilot Project- Orissa facilitates a VSAT network of 350 remote locations covering 30 District Hqrs., 314 Block Hqrs.and other Govt. offices of Orissa with Data, Voice & Video signal transfer facility. The Centre has its own Earth Station linked with NIC, Delhi with 2mbps leased line as well as INSAT 3A satellite linking with a committed information rate 8/32 kbps. It also facilitates Telemedicine and EDUSAT programme.
