It was possible to identify and map all the major road networks in an urban area.  However, the ownership and cover type mapping needs collection of ground truth data. Town/Urban transport network maps are prepared upto 1:2000 scale by using CARTOSAT-II\ QUICKBIRD data. ORSAC has developed road network database of all the towns of state using IRS-PAN data and maps in 1:2000 scale for Cuttack and Bhubaneswar city using 0.61 m Quickbird data. Transportation network maps showing the major traffic nodes is prepared for establishing missing links and planning for new connectivity. Transport network maps of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack are under operational use by Development Authorities, Town planning Dept., Transport dept. Home Dept. and Municipal corporations.
